Oh my gosh it’s, Kate McCosh! I’m Kate, a theatre artist currently residing in Roanoke, VA, where I’m the Education and Outreach Manager for Virginia Children’s Theatre. In the Spring of 2021, I graduated from Western Carolina University’s School of Stage and Screen with my B.F.A in Acting. Upon graduation, I had the privilege of being a part of a team launching a brand new theatre company in WNC, Calliope Stage. I served as Associate Artistic Lead at Calliope from Summer 2021- Summer 2023. Prior to that I have worn some fun theatrical hats in a variety of roles including; Standardized Patient (WCU), Company Member (Sweet Tea Shakespeare), Office Manager (Jackson County Arts Council), and Acting Apprentice (The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey). As an actor, educator, and arts administrator I enjoy focusing on community- based practices. I believe that local artists have power to build stronger, more sustainable communities across the globe. My creative work is often inspired by my adventures in nature. When not at the theatre, I’m often visiting national and state parks with my partner, Dawson and our two dogs; Bella, the Beagle and Corky, the Yorkie. In addition to acting, writing, teaching, and producing... I enjoy yoga, hiking, cooking, baking, reading, and am a self-proclaimed The Moth Story Slam super-fan.
