Oh my gosh, it’s Kate McCosh! I’m Kate, a theatre artist currently residing in Blacksburg, VA. I dream of using community-focused theatre practices to create more accessible and equitable arts spaces. I believe that local artists have the power to help build stronger, more sustainable communities across the globe. Currently, I work as a teaching artist with multiple organizations throughout Southwest Virginia, including The Art Factory NRV, The American Shakespeare Center, and The Lyric Theatre. I am passionate about inspiring students to find their voice through creativity and am a proud believer that theatre teaches life skills. In addition to teaching, I am also a director and recently co-directed Nightfall with Edgar Allan Poe at the Lyric Theatre in Blacksburg, VA. I am also an actor and have been in productions throughout the Southeast, including Fuddy Meers (VT Summer Arts Series), Cymbeline (Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey Apprentice Company), and Calliope Shorts: First (Calliope Stage).
